EUROPEAN WORKS OF ART AND DECORATIVE ART
Valuer Rachael Osborn-Howard brings a wealth of experience to this department, having spent many years at one of the premier London auction houses before founding Curated Auctions. Our ‘The Classics’ auctions feature a range of fine and decorative works of art and antiques dating back as far as the 15th century up to the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Works of art such as bronze, marble and plaster reliefs, urns, vases, plaques and other more decorative objects are sold together with more functional antiques such as candelabra and candlesticks, boxes, tea caddies, lighting, chandeliers, chimneypieces, fire furniture and objects of vertu.
From 18th century snuff boxes to Regency tea caddies, 16th century strong boxes to 19th century plaster reliefs, decorative objects of various materials and from various periods in time all feature in our auctions.
Of particular interest are fine French works of art made in Paris in the 19th century, by makers such as Francois Linke, Alfred Beurdeley, L’Escalier de Cristal, Maison Giroux, boxes by Tahan; glass by Baccarat and bronzes by Ferdinand Barbedienne.
